The scene where Shepard awakens in the dark tunnel has had its animation and cinematography completely redone.Assuming it's Shepard, he orders all fleets to defend the Crucible as it approaches the Citadel. Here, Hackett receives word that somebody reached the Conduit beam. After Shepard makes it into the Conduit beam, a new cutscene plays showing the Normandy returning to defend the Crucible. The Marauder that pops out guarding the Conduit beam has partially depleted shields, making them a bit easier to kill.In the original version, Harbinger fired at Shepard during gameplay since there was no cutscene here. In either case, Shepard briefly resumes the charge at the end of the cutscene before being fired at by Harbinger.Instead Harbinger will vaporize them utterly with his beam, which also detonates the Mako. If your EMS is too low, the Mako doesn't explode after it flips over. The Normandy will then leave the scene in front of Harbinger, and Shepard will resume the charge to the Conduit. If this is your love interest, they will always be chosen for some last words. Shepard calls in the Normandy for an emergency evacuation, where they'll have some last words to the most favoured Squad Mate present. If you have a high enough EMS, your Squad Mates will be critically injured by the Mako flipping over and exploding. ![]() A new scene has been added during the final rush to the Conduit beam when Harbinger arrives, with two different versions that begin with a Mako being flipped over:.This was noticed by Dusty Everman of Bioware and has been fixed with the Extended Cut DLC. The only non-ending change is a bug fix: Some ambient dialogue in Engineering aboard the Normandy between Gabby/ Ken and Garrus/Tali would only trigger if Shepard was very good friends with Ashley. All of the information in this section has been sourced from the Mass Effect Wikia's page on the Extended Cut for EMS numbers, as well as Hathur's video of the original versions and FlufflyNinjaLlama's videos of the Extended Cut for cutscene differences, unless otherwise noted.
